As mentioned 1000s of times already, in my opinion, the only way to study Maths is by physically putting pen to paper and practicing as many different types of questions as possible. It doesn't even matter if you go over the same questions more than once - until you can do them without thinking. The more you have to 'go down a path' in your brain the more open that path becomes so that, in an exam, there will be plenty of paths available to you. NO MATTER how bright you are, if you do not practice what we do in class you will NOT be able to solve problems at the speed required during an exam.
If you run out of questions to practice on - ask me - I have LOADs more resources - but, tbh, there is propably enough material across the T&T books to keep you working - only look for more material when you feel that you have no difficulty doing any T&T question from scratch..
When revising, start with a blank page and your book. Go to each section of the chapter you are revising and do a decent selection of random questions from each one. Spend a while trying to do a question - do not give up easily as it is through the process of trying to solve a problem that you learn the most. If you cannot get the correct answer then you should have done these before in class and should have the correct solutions in your copy. If you do not then it is either because you did not do them for HW or, if you did and got the question wrong then you did not ask me to go over it in class. ASK me in class or email me if you cannot do a question and I will go over it - I am happy to do this in class as it will be revision for everyone. Also, as mentioned the worked solutions to all chapters of T&T are on my website in the 6Y maths section - but only use them as a last resort.
As mentioned 1000s of times, if you do not put in the effort in 5Y, there will NOT be enough time to catch up next year. Work hard consistently this year and you will avoid stress next year. Maximise your attendence - missing a 40 minute class means at least double that amount of time will need to be sent catching up. It's NOT worth it so avoid it at all costs!
Exam technique : Attempt ALL questions! Start with any straight forward questions skipping any questions you think may be challenging. DO NOT get stuck on a question, move on and come back when you have done one pass over the paper. Doing easier questions will build your confidence up and make it easier for you to stay calm and problem solve for the harder questions. If you cannot figure out what t do in a question then write dwn any relevent piece of information related to the question as this will probably get you marks and will more than likely also jog your memory and allow you to proceed further until you see the path to the answer.
Below are the tests you have done so far - you can use them as a revision tool also but, since all Q's camme from the T&T book, I think you would be better off studying with the book
Best of luck in Christmas test but remember - theres only one exam that counts in terms of results - the rest are all just opportunities for me to see what I might need to teach better and for you to identify common errors you make and to see what you need to go and practice more!
Get it into you head NOW : There is NO replacement for listening in class, hard work and practice!!
